What is a green broke horse? What is a green rider?
"Green" is a word horse people and horse professionals use to refer to inexperience. To call a horse green means that the horse had not been a ridden or trained extensively. Green horses may not understand all cues, or always do what the rider requests. Green riders are riders who are inexperienced or novice. Green riders, like horses, simply lack training and experience. Green horses are generally not appropriate for beginner or novice riders. Green riders should always be given more experienced horses to ride, not green horses.
