One of the most rare horse colors is a color known as silver dapple or chocolate. These horses have black or very dark brown body coats and white or very light gray manes and tails. Chocolate may have a flaxen or blond mane on a dark brown body. These rare horse colors do not occur in every breed. Chocolate is common in rocky Mountain Horses and Silver Dapple is a Morgan horse color. This combination of blacken body codes and light or white manes is very beautiful and also extremely rare horse color.
Another rare horse color is called brindle. Brindle is an extremely rare color, though it could be called a genetic "accident". A Brindle is not a genetically passable trait, but it is the result of DNA from two colors combining in utero. This color is extremely rare in horses.
